About Todays Deal BD

Todays Deal BD is a Bangladesh-based online marketplace offering a diverse product range. It relies heavily on paid traffic for growth, but limited tracking accuracy made it hard to understand campaign ROI and optimize ad spend.

Project overview

The brand ran ads across platforms, but purchases and revenue values were not tracked consistently in GA4 and Google Ads. Missing parameters, incorrect tagging and the lack of an enhanced eCommerce schema made attribution inaccurate.

I redesigned the tracking around a full-funnel enhanced eCommerce strategy, connecting every funnel action and passing validated purchase values to Google Ads for precise attribution.

Goals

  • Track product views, cart actions, checkout steps and purchases
  • Send verified revenue data to Google Ads
  • Enable ROAS-focused campaign optimization

Challenges

  • Purchase events lacked value and transaction ID mapping
  • No enhanced eCommerce schema, so funnel visibility was incomplete
  • Attribution relied on clicks instead of verified revenue
  • Limited remarketing segmentation and data-driven decision-making

Strategy

I built a structured tracking layer with GA4 enhanced ecommerce events and GTM triggers, then mapped the conversion data into Google Ads conversion tracking. The system captures both product interactions and final purchase values, so bidding can scale accurately on real revenue.

What I implemented

GA4 Enhanced eCommerce

  • Configured the events View Item → Add to Cart → Begin Checkout → Purchase
  • Created a clean data layer passing product arrays, currency, transaction_id and revenue values

Google Tag Manager

  • Deployed tags for UI actions, scroll depth, clicks and checkout triggers

Google Ads conversion tracking

  • Synced GA4 purchase values with Google Ads conversion tracking

Validation

  • Verified end-to-end signals with Tag Assistant, DebugView and order-level logs

Tools used

  • Google Tag Manager (Web)
  • Google Analytics 4 (Enhanced eCommerce)
  • Google Ads Conversion Tracking
  • Tag Assistant
  • GA4 DebugView

Results

  • All GA4 and Google Ads tags fired on a test purchase, with none left unfired
  • Purchase, Initiate checkout, Add to cart, View content and PageView deduplicated between browser and server in Meta
  • Server-side tagging live on a first-party subdomain (capi.todaysdealbd.com)
  • Conversion tracking: from partial and click-based to the full funnel with revenue
  • Data quality: from missing parameters to structured item arrays and values
  • Attribution accuracy: from fragmented to aligned between GA4 and Google Ads
  • Optimization: from manual decisions to ROAS-driven bidding and scaling
