How to Give Access to Google Merchant Center

Google Merchant Center holds your product feed: the titles, prices, images and stock levels Google uses for Shopping ads and free product listings. Adding me as a user lets me fix product problems and connect the feed to your ads, without needing your password.

Invite this emailanalyticsbychamok@gmail.com

Before you start

  • Admin access to the Merchant Center account (only admins can add people)
  • My email address: analyticsbychamok@gmail.com

Why I need this access

  • 01 Find and fix product disapprovals, warnings and feed errors that stop your products showing on Google.
  • 02 Improve product data (titles, categories, attributes) so products show for the right searches.
  • 03 Check shipping, returns and tax settings that Google requires before products can be shown.
  • 04 Connect Merchant Center with Google Ads and Google Analytics, and review product performance.

Which role to choose

Standard + Performance and insights. Standard lets me work on everything feed-related: products, data sources, diagnostics and settings. It cannot add or remove people or apps, so you stay in control. Performance and insights lets me see the sales and click reports I use to judge what's working. Choose Admin instead only if you want me to link Google Ads or connect a store app (such as Shopify or WooCommerce) myself, because Google only lets admins do that. Read only would stop me from fixing anything.

Also worksAdminEverything, including adding, removing and editing people, and adding or removing apps, stores and linked accounts.
What I needStandardCan access and edit everything (products, data sources, settings), but cannot manage people or add and remove apps.

FAQ

Google Merchant Center access: common questions

Why not Admin straight away?

Admin can add and remove people and connect apps. My feed and tracking work doesn't need that day to day. If a link to Google Ads or a store app is needed, you can approve it, or give me Admin for that task and lower it afterwards.

What is "Performance and insights"?

An extra access option that shows performance data such as clicks and sales from your products. I use it to judge which products and fixes matter most.

My account is connected to Shopify or WooCommerce. Do I still need to do this?

Yes. The store app sends your products to Merchant Center, but I still need access to Merchant Center itself to see errors and settings.

I see a "super admin" mentioned. What is that?

If your Merchant Center is linked to a Google business profile manager, super admins are managed there, not in Merchant Center. You don't need to make me a super admin.
