Question 1 of 7

How is tracking installed on your website?

What the quiz checks

The seven questions follow the order I use in a real tracking audit. Each one covers a problem I find again and again on Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress and custom sites, and each answer points to a guide that explains the fix.

  1. How is tracking installed on your website?

Move tags into one Google Tag Manager container and remove duplicate plugins and app pixels, so every event fires once and is easy to test.

  2. Do the conversions in Google Ads or Meta match your real orders or leads?

Compare a week of platform conversions with your store or CRM. Large gaps usually mean missing, duplicated or wrongly triggered conversion events.

Why GA4 and Google Ads numbers differ
  3. Do your conversions send a value and an order or lead ID?

Send the real value, currency and a unique transaction ID with each conversion. Value-based bidding needs it, and the ID stops duplicates.

  4. If you run Meta ads: how are your Meta events sent?

Add the Meta Conversions API next to the Pixel and share one event ID between them, so Meta sees more conversions without counting them twice.

    Meta Pixel vs Conversions API
  5. Do you use server-side tracking (for example server-side GTM on Stape)?

Server-side tracking sends events from your own subdomain, which helps against ad blockers and browser limits. It is worth it once you spend regularly on ads.

  6. Do you have visitors from the EU, UK or other places that need cookie consent?

Set up a consent banner connected to Google Consent Mode v2, so Google can keep measuring and modelling conversions for visitors in those regions.

  7. When was your tracking last tested end to end, with a real test order or lead?

Place a real test order or lead and follow it through GTM Preview, GA4 DebugView, Google Ads and Meta Events Manager. Theme and app updates break tracking quietly.
